Ladies, gentlemen, pimp daddies, slick chicks, scholars, cool kats, starving
artists, real estate moguls, business women, grunge kids, rock stars, studs,
divas, activists, partiers, cougars, and dirty ole’ geezers:
I want to thank you for all of your support over the past years.
There is no way that I could have achieved continuous success, had so many
opportunities to work with the best people, had chances to be part of
interesting experiences and had such a blast in the process without your help
and encouragement.
It is therefore bittersweet that I announce the ending of The Cypher Movement’
s monthly open mic and theme poetry slam show in Jersey City. It is time for
me to extend myself further and pursue new challenges.
Over the past 3 years, The Cypher Movement has busted through the seams
of Jersey City nightlife, with the hottest spoken word performers, visual artists,
filmmakers, dancers, steppers, dj’s, musicians, and authors. I am extremely
honored and grateful to have had so many talented “newbies “as well as
distinguished veterans touch the stage.
Please join me in saying farewell at the final Jersey City showing of The
Cypher Movement “Grown & Sexy Slam Show” by coming out and celebrating
with us this Friday, June 27th, @ 7:30 - 10pm,Jordan’s Lounge 247 Newark
Ave, Jersey City, NJ.
You can be sure to experience an exciting run of superior poetry, spoken
word and visual art. As is The Cypher Movement custom, the open mic will be
available to all those who wish to showcase their skillz and share their Cypher
stories.
In true Cypher style, Geoffrey Holman is our acclaimed, outstanding visual
artist for the evening.
With the utmost sense of pride and excitement I, Dujuana Sharese, will host
the last of what has proven to be an outrageous series of shows at Jordan’s
Lounge.
